More than 50 participants from businesses across southern Ukraine attended a conference on energy saving solutions for business, organised by the Mykolaiv Business Support Centre, with the support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the EU4Business initiative.
The conference on ‘Practical Implementation of Alternative Energy and Energy Saving Technologies in Business’ took place on 11 October, and attracted businesses from all kinds of sectors in the region, united by the desire to implement alternative energy and energy-saving technologies in their workplace.
The conference provided a unique opportunity to meet and hear from a leading international energy expert, George Seil, Ph.D, senior adviser on energy and strategic management at the EBRD, as well as to get acquainted with successful practices in introducing energy saving technologies in local enterprises.
Participants also received a global perspective outlining changes in the structure of the world energy industry over the past 5 years, as well as the expected outlook and the main trends in development.
The Mykolaiv Business Support Centre is part of the EU-funded Network of Business Support Centres, which aims to improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. It also supports BSOs in 15 regions of Ukraine in setting up a network of EU4Business Business Support Centres (BSCs). At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs will benefit from the project.
