On 5 June 2019, the International Trade Centre (ITC) within the framework of the European Union funded project “Eastern Partnership: Ready to Trade – an EU for business initiative” will present the Road Map of Ukrainian berries sector development during the events of the largest agricultural exhibition in Ukraine and Eastern Europe – AGRO 2019, to be held in Kyiv, Ukraine.
This presentation will be a key announcement to the specialized and general public about the Road Map objectives and project activities in Ukraine.
The Road Map is a strategic export potential development program for Ukrainian berries sector in 2019-2024, designed by the ITC experts and the Ukrainian Berries Association. The document identifies trade-related challenges, as well as opportunities for increased trade with the EU. It was advanced for three selected product groups within the berries sector: fresh, processing and organic berries that based on companies’ assessment, value chain analysis for these product groups, and sectoral institutional mapping.
The Road Map pursues the following objectives:
- Strengthen the supply of Ukrainian berries
- Strengthen Ukrainian institutions
- Government strategic approach to support sector development
All activities under the Road Map are stipulated to be implemented by the Ukrainian government and state institutions, business support organizations and other designated actors.
This initiative will contribute to the strengthening of export capacity of Ukrainian SMEs – berries producers and processors.
