EU4Business brings together successful businesswomen in Chernihiv

The second International Business Women’s Conference was held on 7 September, organised by the Chernihiv Chamber of Commerce in Ukraine. The conference took place thanks to the financial support of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) as part of the EU4Business initiative of the European Union.

This conference saw successful representatives of the Chernihiv business community exchange their experiences, ideas and achievements in business, as well as being exposed to new knowledge and practical skills, based on European experience.

The Vice-President of the Chernihiv Chamber of Commerce, Larisa Tsygan, presented the achievements and activities of the local Businesswomen’s Committee.

Women learned about the opportunities that the free trade agreement with Canada opens for businesses from the executive director of the Canadian-Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce, Emmy Turos.

They also heard from the head of the Lithuanian Businesswomen’s Association, Gražina Garulienė, and from Osa Yarkos, director of the private sector development programme in Sweden.

The special guest of the event was well-known fashion blogger Margarita Muradova, whose master class attracted considerable interest among participants.

The event was organised with the support of the EU4Business Network of Business Support Centres project, implemented by the EBRD, which aims to improve the competitiveness and bankability of Ukrainian SMEs through the provision of business advice and capacity building. It also supports BSOs in 15 regions of Ukraine in setting up a network of EU4Business Business Support Centres (BSCs). At least 30,000 SMEs and entrepreneurs will benefit from the project.
