Safety first: #StartBusinessChallenge provides full recommendations for business during quarantine

Lifting quarantine rules on May 11 allowed a large number of small and medium-sized enterprises to go back to work. Coronavirus continues to spread, and entrepreneurs should pay special attention to the safety of both their employees and clients. That is why the Better Regulation Delivery Office (BRDO) in cooperation with the SME Development Office (SMEDO) operating within the Ministry of Economic Development, Trade and Agriculture of Ukraine and the State Labor Service developed cases of safe activities during the quarantine for 53 business types and integrated them into the #StartBusinessChallenge platform.

How these cases work. An entrepreneur can choose a case that suits the type of his/her business and view the latest recommendations on work during the quarantine. Recommendations include rules from Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Chief State Sanitary Doctor, as well as advice on quarantine from the World Health Organization and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration of the United States Department of Labor.

What is useful about the cases? Our specialists have collected recommendations on the operation of outdoor cafées and restaurants, door-to-door delivery or take-aways, companies dealing with the reception of clients, businesses that have decided to work in shifts, hairdressing and beauty salons, as well as companies with permitted domestic services.

Whom the cases are useful to: business owners in the following areas:

  • catering
  • beauty industry
  • taxi
  • vehicle service stations
  • Internet providers
  • postal and courier activities
  • photo studio
  • photo printing
  • equipment repair services
  • mobile payment services, payments for utility services and Internet access services
  • laundry and dry cleaning services
  • repair of office and computer equipment, supplies and accessories, household goods and personal-use items during the quarantine
  • veterinary practice
  • bicycle repair shops
  • tire services
  • bicycle rental services

– as well as similar and related markets.

Quarantine recommendations for business will soon appear in infographic format on the State Information Portal for Entrepreneurs.
